Market report 25.5.21

 

The NZ market was off the pace today, ignoring a good overnight session by Wall St, to prune 107.81points off the NZX50 at 12,341.19. The Dow Jones was up 186.14 at 34,393.98. The best gain of the day on NZX was made by newly listed chemicals group DGL, which increased share price 13.64% or 15c to $1.25. Restaurant Brands gained  27c at $13.90, Trustpower was  up 25c to $8.55. My Food Bag rose 14c to $1.50 on an analyst’s favourable comments and a strong story in Headliner this week. Turners Auto shares bumped 15c higher to $3.96 on its good half year results. Contact Energy shed 16c at $7.65 and Mercury Energy was down 12c to $6.45. Ryman slid a further 28c at $12.87, F&P Healthcare fell 137c to $32.63 and Mainfreight 80c to $73. Comvita eased 15c to $3.85. Napier Port’s lower FY21 net results saw its shares lose 7c at $3.28.
