International markets firm up

European sharemarkets were firmer on Tuesday, reported CommSec. The strongest gain was by banks, up 2.5%, in response to rising bond yields. Insurers rose 2.0% and autos lifted by 1.6%. “Money markets are now pricing in around 50 basis points of rate hikes by the European Central Bank (ECB) by the end of the year.” […]
